Nature is Always Open: MDC COVID Updates
To all of our guests, volunteers, members, and other supporters…
This has been and will continue to be a time of uncharted waters for all of us. We at MDC are trying to balance the concerns for public health with our need for normalcy in uncertain times. We currently are CLOSED to the public and all tours, programs, and events have been cancelled or postponed until further notice. MDC is closed, but just remember…Nature is always open.
LAGOONACY: Our big fundraising festival originally was scheduled for April 18. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 26. Visit Lagoonacy.org for more info.
INJURED WILDLIFE: Even though we are not a wildlife rehabilitation center, we often get calls about injured, stranded, or dead animals. If you encounter any of these, please call the FWC Wildlife Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922). For injured seabirds or sea turtles, you can also call the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet at 386-304-5545 for instructions; they are closed to the public but continue to accept injured seabirds and sea turtles.
For more information about programs, events, and tours at Marine Discovery Center, please visit our online calendar. In addition, we encourage you to enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather, spend time with your family, and call someone who may be alone. We can still practice social distancing but remain engaged with our community.
Thank you for cooperation and understanding during this time.
