Nature is Always Open: MDC COVID Updates
To all of our guests, volunteers, members, and other supporters…
This has been and will continue to be a time of uncharted waters for all of us. We at MDC are trying to balance the concerns for public health with our need for normalcy in uncertain times.
We are open with normal operating hours and daily boat/kayak tours! Due to COVID 19, Marine Discovery Center (MDC) has taken precautionary steps to ensure the safety of our guests, staff and volunteers. These steps include the following:
• Limited capacity on boat tours. Current maximum is 20 persons (50% capacity).
• Increased sanitation of all high touch areas (boat, kayaks, outdoor seating areas, and indoor facilities).
• Temperature checks for staff, volunteers, and guests.
• Face Masks: All staff and volunteers will wear masks while inside our facility; boat and kayak staff also will wear masks when helping people board and when social distancing cannot safely be maintained. Guests are required to wear masks while inside our facility and when social distancing cannot safely be maintained.
Office Hours | We have returned to our normal operating hours of 9-5 weekdays and 9-3 weekends.
Boat and Kayak Tours | We are offering our daily boat tours and kayak tours. These tours need to be booked in advance online or over the phone and can be paid for online, over the phone, or at the Welcome Center. Call 386.428.4828 if you have questions.
We still need your help to stay afloat, so click the buttons below to explore other various ways to support MDC during this time!
For more information about programs, events, and tours at Marine Discovery Center, please visit our online calendar. In addition, we encourage you to enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather, spend time with your family, and call someone who may be alone. We can still practice social distancing but remain engaged with our community.
Thank you for cooperation and understanding during this time.
