Racing’s North Turn Joins Oyster Program

North TurnWe would like to extend a warm welcome to Racing’s North Turn in Ponce Inlet to our Shuck and Share oyster recycling program here at the Marine Discovery Center.

Racing’s North Turn sits on the exact location where racing history began in Daytona Beach! The restaurant offers a variety of tasty food items for seafood lovers and land lubbers. They have live music playing every night and is a big hit when race and bike week roll around.

Racing’s North Turn joins 11 other local restaurants in our mission to keep oyster shells out of landfills and to recycle them back into our marshes. The Shuck and Share program collects shells from participating restaurants twice a week and turns the shells into oyster mats or bags which are later deployed in the marsh to restore oyster beds and reduce erosion to shorelines. Since the start of the program we’ve recycled over 77,000 pounds of oyster shells!
