Upcoming: Oyster Shell Bagging

Aug 11th, 2014 | Category: Blogs, MDC News, Oyster Restoration News, Shoreline Restoration News

This Saturday, you can give back to the environment by assisting with our Shuck and Share oyster recycling project. We need volunteers to help us bag up some of the oyster shells that have been recycled through area seafood restaurants, in preparation of another shoreline restoration event. The oyster bags will be utilized in September to stabilize parts of the MDC property as large pieces of debris are removed from the shoreline as part of the salt marsh restoration project currently underway.

Please wear close-toed shoes, clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and be prepared to work outdoors (sun protection and LOTS of water!). We’ll get started at 9am in the back parking lot (the ‘oyster lot’) at MDC.P1050669
