Oyster Mats this Saturday, Feb 1

Jan 28th, 2014 | Category: Blogs, Oyster Restoration News, Shoreline Restoration News

While you’re stopping by our Open House on Saturday, February 1st, head on back to the oyster lot to construct an oyster mat or two! We’ll be there from 9am – 3pm to show you everything you need to know to make a mat or bag using recycled oyster shells. You’ll be able to see for yourself how the recycling project works, and play an active role in helping restore the lagoon.

This is a free event that is fun for individuals or groups. No RSVP required. In addition to oyster mats, our Open House from 12 – 3pm will feature kid-friendly activities, archery, birds of prey, a free kayak clinic, a 50 foot whale, and more! Don’t forget to get your photo with our beautiful mermaid. We hope to see you this Saturday!
