MDC’s Mermaid and Lecturer, Traci Gardellis

Mermaids and mermen have been a part of myths and legends for centuries in cultures all around the world. Seafarers of days gone by thought they were real creatures – and some people still do! In fact, there is a worldwide community of modern mermaids that make it their mission to teach people about the amazing creatures in our waters and the ways we can help protect them.

Join Marine Discovery Center as our own certified mermaid, Traci Gardellis, discusses the role of mermaids and mermen in folklore, pop culture, science and environmental awareness.
