Program summary:

Bats: Myth & Reality: This colorful program uses high resolution photography and research results to debunk the folklore, myths, and misconceptions that have plagued bats for centuries. Unfounded fears, often fueled by grossly over-stated disease risk and other misinformation, are major contributors to the dramatic decline in world-wide bat populations. This program discusses bat facts, species diversity, environmental and economic benefits of bats, and disease risk. This program will be followed by a question & answer period. Living Florida bat species will be displayed during the presentation.
