The second annual Halifax Oyster Festival will take place on Saturday, April 30 at Manatee Island near downtown Daytona Beach. Coordinated by the Halifax Oyster Reef Restoration Society, the Halifax Oyster Festival is believed to be the only oyster festival fully devoted to supporting oyster reef restoration.

The full day event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature a wide variety of oyster dishes prepared by local restaurants and music from Eric Lee Beddingfield and The Mob. Attendees can also help build oyster mats from empty oyster shells. All proceeds will fund the society’s mission to restore healthy oyster beds to Volusia County’s Intracoastal Waterway with a partnership with the Marine Discovery Center.
